Rucker Robinson – North Gwinnett

Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path?

A: I will attend Wake Forest University as a Stamps Scholar. I chose Wake Forest because of the scholarship opportunity, the kind people, commitment to service, and opportunities for undergraduate research.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: I love to spend time with my Mom, Dad, and my two younger sisters. We love to serve our church together in Gwinnett Churcih’s Waumba Land environment. We also enjoy playing board games and riding bikes together as a family.

 

Q: Where do you go to school?

A: North Gwinnett High School

 

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? 

A: Jim N Nicks  and Mellow Mushroom

 

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: Chris Davis, Sr.

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: I was scheduled for an April trip to London to watch an European soccer game with my Dad and my great uncle. I’d lovye to take that trip and look forward to when we can travel again.

 

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: Movie: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. TV Show: The Office

 

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: In everything you do, be true to yourself. Mrs. Kirsten Baker

 

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: Coldplay

 

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A: Swim Atlanta Select Team; these are some of my closest friends and I miss seeing them every day; Sugarloaf ChickFilA—we eat there a lot!

 

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

A: Most everywhere I go, I see someone I know. Most of my friends grew up here, so we are really close.

 

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: I plan to be knee deep in Med School and/or finishing my residency. Eventually, I plan to serve my community as a pediatric oncologist.

 

Q: What show are you binge watching right now? 

A: My mom canceled Netflix so I’m not watching any shows right now

 

Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: Month—July. Holiday —Christmas. Best day—Labor day because it’s the first 3-day weekend of the school year

 

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: My mom

 

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different?

A: I’d go to more sporting events for my high school year to support my friends

 

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: My friends

 

Q: Were you involved in any sports or extra curricular activities?

A: I am a swimmer. I have been on Swim Atlanta’s team for 10 years. I also swam for North Gwinnett High School and we won the State Championship this year!

 

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: Go see my friends then go swimming
