Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path?

A: I am going to run cross country and track and field at Georgia Southern. I am going to be a part of their honors program and major in Exercise Science. After I joined cross country freshman year, I wanted to run in college too, and I fell in love with Georgia Southern!

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: I live with my mom, dad, and younger brother and sister. I love my family so much! We’ve been going on family walks during this time and I have enjoyed getting to spend extra time with them before college!

Q: Where do you go to school?

A: North Gwinnett

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: I love Tequlia Mama in Suwanee Town Center and Mellow Mushroom

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: There’s a couple on the trail with a golden retriever puppy names Abby that I see a lot when running or walking on the trail. I know that the woman broke her hip a while ago and was able to recover quickly because she was so active! They always are out walking their dog, and they are so nice and kind! I know that they have even helped out my sister one day during a run when she was having a tough time. Every time I see them I think that I want to be that active when I’m older and to be as happy and kind as they are!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: I would love to go to Europe. I’ve always been amazed at the really old buildings there, especially the castles! I watch a lot of shows and movies and read a lot of books set in Europe and I would love to visit one day!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: My favorite movie is Lion King and my favorite TV show is either Chuck or Sherlock.

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: He wasn’t my teacher, but my coach. Coach Rowland has told me to “not let that put you in a fowl mood”!! The first time he said this there was rain in the forecast for a big race, and he told us that we should be ducks instead of bulldogs because of the rain! He continued with “don’t let that put you in a fowl mood”! It was a funny moment in time, but I realized it can help with a lot in life. When things get tough or don’t go the way you want, you have to adapt and to stay positive!

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: I listen to either country Taylor Swift or any older songs from when I was a kid.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A: I’d love to have lunch with Dr. Sterling who is part of Sterling Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy here in Suwanee! I got plantar fasciitis this year in the beginning of my track season, so I went to her to fix it. She was so nice to me and really knew her stuff! She helped me to fix my foot quick! I would love to talk to her about physical therapy and learn new things from her. I’d also love to talk to her about her journey from college and how she got to where she was, because I would love to do something like she does when I get older! I’d probably go to some place like Tequila Mama!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

A: All of the trails are always full of runners who are always super nice and friendly! I don’t know many of them but there are always friendly faces who wave hi!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: I see myself getting my doctorate degree and becoming a physical therapist. I also see myself starting a family!

Q: What show are you binge watching right now?

A: Right now I am binge watching Stranger Things and The Masked Singer!

Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: My favorite month is probably December because my favorite holiday is Christmas! I love how happy everyone is during the time and I love looking at all the Christmas lights!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: My mom inspires me to be better. She’s helped to motivate me to be the best I can be and I wouldn’t be where I was without her. She wants what’s best for me and wants me to reach all my goals!

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different?

A: I honestly don’t think I would do anything different. I love where I am in like right now and couldn’t be happier. I made a lot of tough decisions in high school especially but now I have some of the best friends and people in my life!

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: I miss my grandparents. They live in Erie, PA and we go up and see them once a year in the summer. Because of everything going on, we might not go up and see them this year to keep them safe. I love going up and seeing them because they are always so happy and we always do fun things with them and all our cousins!

Q: Were you involved in any sports or extra curricular activities?

A: I was involved in cross county and track and field. I was also a part of National Honor Society.

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: I want to go out to a restaurant with friends and run with all my teammates again! I miss running in our big groups!!
