Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path?

A: I am headed to Texas Christian University to pursue bachelors & masters degrees in Strategic Communication. I knew I wanted to go into public relations after reading the book Brand New Emily by Ginger Rue, in which a publicist helps a teen girl launch a personal popularity campaign. I hope to work with social media for a nonprofit.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: I live with my parents and my sister. My mom is an LSTC at GIVE East of Gwinnett COunty Public Schools, and my dad is a software engineer for Kauffman Hall. My sister is a freshman in high school and plays volleyball and varsity lacrosse.

 

Q: Where do you go to school?

A: North Gwinnett HS

 

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? 

A: Frontera,  Tequila Mama,  Vesuvio Pizza 

 

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: The most interesting person I’ve met in Suwanee is Mr. Jean-Louis Pondo, my AP French teacher. He has been so many places and has such fun stories to tell. He is also so committed to making sure that our class of nine students has a great understanding of the French language.

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: I would travel to Italy! Maybe not right now because of the pandemic, but I love Italian food.

 

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: My favorite movie is Pitch Perfect. My favorite TV show is New Girl or The Bold Type.

 

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: The best advice I have ever received from a teacher is that you won’t remember all the AP classes you take in high school, but you will remember relationships.

 

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: The Band Camino

 

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A: I would choose to meet Kacey Musgraves. She is one of my favorite performers and I love her style. She is so unapologetic about who she is. We would meet at Tequila Mama.

 

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

A: I love all the festivals that happen in Town Center! There is always something to do.

 

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: In five years I hope to be finishing my masters in strategic communication, and starting to work for a company whose mission I believe in.

 

Q: What show are you binge watching right now? 

A: Gossip Girl

 

Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: Month: September. Holiday: Valentine’s Day. Single Day: My little sister’s birthday, October 12.

 

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: My dad inspires me to be better. He came from a family where not much was expected of him, and now he provides an amazing life for me and my sister and mom. He is also super responsible with money, even though he makes a lot of it. Most of all, he is the kind of dad I want my kids to have.

 

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different?

A: Not sure. I don’t really have regrets.

 

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: Hugs

 

Q: Were you involved in any sports or extra curricular activities?

A: Student Council is basically my life. I also am involved in French Club, French Honor Society, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

 

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: Have a party!
