Avery Saylor – North Gwinnett

Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path?

A: I’m going to Georgia Southern this fall. my sister is going to be a junior there next year and she loves it!

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: I have lived in Suwanee for 17 years and me and my family have moved a couple of times around the area.

 

Q: Where do you go to school?

A: North Gwinnett high school

 

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? 

A: Mori house and tequila mama

 

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: Parker Everson

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: I would go to Barcelona, Spain because I have always wanted to go there since I saw the Cheetah Girls when I was little.

 

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: I love the movie Footloose and my favorite TV series is The Office.

 

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: My AP Lang teacher, Dr. Collette Grodzicki, taught me so many things my junior year, but most importantly she taught us to be more informed people of the world and to get educated on real issues, not just school work.

 

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: Kanye West

 

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A: I would choose Hellen Keller.

 

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

A: Suwanee moms are so entertaining to watch. They really think this is all there is to the world.

 

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: I hope to be graduated from college and entering the workforce.

 

Q: What show are you binge watching right now? 

A: Outer Banks

 

Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: The best month is April because it’s birthday month for my family and Easter. Mine, my sister, and my moms birthdays are all a week apart.

 

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: My mom influences my morals and my conscience a lot.

 

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different?

A: I would probably take easier classes because my workload junior and senior year was stressful.

 

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: I miss going to school a lot. It’s really hard to skip out on my whole senior year and we’re not even allowed to see each other one last time.

 

Q: Were you involved in any sports or extra curricular activities?

A: Varsity lacrosse, flag football, and theater

 

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: Be with my friends before we leave for college
