Audrey Wood and Jaime Corbin, Owners of Hairllucinations

One of the first businesses to open in Town Center Park, Hairllucinations was born in 2007.  Everyone seems to know Jaime and Audrey and, obviously, they are great at doing hair.

What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Jaime:
I was a cheerleader and started doing everyone’s hair and makeup in high school.
Audrey:  I worked at a salon and then went to Georgia College to avoid being a beauty school dropout.

What is your favorite restaurant in Suwanee and what do you love there?
Jaime:
Tequila Mama because of the atmosphere, and we are both so happy to have neighbors and that a restaurant is open in this space once again!
Audrey: Sonic. I have my own parking space there!

How long have you worked or lived in Suwanee?
Audrey:
Born and raised here. I currently live in Braselton.
Jaime: I worked at Tangles first and have been in the area since.

What has kept you here?
Jaime and Audrey:
We both enjoy being part of the community. There is no reason at all to want to leave Suwanee. We are lucky to have our business in Town Center Park.

Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in Suwanee?
Jaime and Audrey:
We both agree that Jimmy Burnette, the current mayor, is probably one of the most interesting people in Suwanee and has great stories to tell having grown up here.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Jaime:
Tahiti because of the sun, sand, relaxation, and peace there.
Audrey: A destination music festival because I love music and love to see jam bands.

What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
Jaime and Audrey:
E.T.

What advice would you give a crowd of people?
Jaime and Audrey:
Be kind to others, be yourself, and treat people the way you wish to be treated.

What is something on your bucket list?
Jaime:
Traveling to Italy.
Audrey: A destination concert anywhere, but specifically Red Rocks in Colorado.

If you could take anyone to lunch (dead or alive) who would that be and where would you go?
Jaime:
My mama and we would go to Savannah.
Audrey: Matthew McConaughey and I would take him to my house!

What is your favorite music? Name three bands you would like to see.
Jaime:
I love country music and would like to see Garth Brooks, Zack Brown, and Pink.
Audrey: I gravitate toward jam bands so specifically Phish, Widespread Panic, and Moe or Grease Guy. The fan base is one of a kind in that everyone is kind to one another and doesn’t leave a mess.

What local business makes you the most nostalgic about Suwanee?
Audrey: The original Waffle House on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and Dr. Gentry’s office. Also Atlanta Bread Company.

What is your favorite thing about Suwanee?
Jaime and Audrey:
Our salon! And this great community. Neither of us ever dread coming to work. We love seeing all of the activity in Town Center Park.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Jaime and Audrey:
We both hope to still be thriving here in Suwanee.

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Jaime and Audrey:
We both feel there is little that people don’t know about us because we are very open people and hairdressers! We form friendships with our clients.

How did the name of your business originate?
Jaime and Audrey:
After taking business classes and learning about company names and procedures, and several conversations possibly including some drinks, we found this to be catchy and also a name that people would know exactly what we do without even walking in the door!
