Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path?

A: I will be attending Jacksonville University in Florida in the Fall, majoring in dance and business.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: I am the middle of three, I have an older brother and a younger sister. My brother currently attends the University of South Carolina, and my sister is a freshman at North Gwinnett. My mom is a Gwinnett County teacher, and my dad works for Cox Communications.

Q: Where do you go to school?

A: North Gwinnett High School

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: I like Mori House and Tequilla Mama in Suwanee.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: My dance teacher at North, Reyna O’Leary, is the most interesting person I have met here. She has been a positive influence in my life over the last four years, challenged me to think outside the box, and introduced many opportunities in dance that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: Climbing Machu Picchu has always been on my bucket list!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: I’m not a big fan of movies/TV, but if I had to pick it would probably be Disney’s The Game Plan because I love The Rock, and I’ve watched the movie since I was little.

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: “You can.” From Balta Monkiki at The Mind Lab.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: Berhana is always a good choice, I also really enjoy Skegss.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A: Definitely Miley Cyrus. She’s so cool. I would take her to Mellow Mushroom because they have great vegan options.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

A: The presence of arts in our community is far from lacking. I have always enjoyed going to town center to hear live music, seeing shows, and so much more.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: In 5 to 10 years, I see myself working in the dance industry, either on the performance or management side.

Q: What show are you binge watching right now?

A: I am currently watching The Circle on Netflix!

Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: My favorite month is December. There’s a break from school, the slight chance for snow, and of course, Christmas.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: People that inspire me are the ones who chase after their dreams no matter the obstacles that come their way.

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different?

A: I wouldn’t do anything different. Everything that has happened I have learned from, and without those experiences I wouldn’t be who I am today.

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: I miss hanging out with my friends the most.

Q: Were you involved in any sports or extra curricular activities?

A: I have been a dancer my whole life and never had time for anything else, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: No sleep, bus, club, another club, another club, no sleep, plane, haha.
