There are few people in Suwanee who don’t know Dick Cunningham and his restaurant at Town Center, Ippolito’s. Dick has a great personality, generous heart, and an always-smiling face.
What inspired you or led you to your current career?
I first worked for Campbell Soup Company for 27 years. We moved to Alpharetta in 1992. Through friends, we met the Ippolitos and first opened Ippolitos on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. We moved from there and into Town Center Park because we wanted to be part of a community like Suwanee.
What is your favorite restaurant?
Frankie’s Steakhouse in Duluth. They have fantastic service and food.
How long have you worked or lived in Suwanee?
What has kept you here?
The people who live here, the City, police and fire departments.
How big is your family?
My wife Penny, son Tim, and dog Michael Andrew.
Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in Suwanee?
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
My favorite place is Florida, and also Italy.
What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?
What advice would you give a crowd of people?
Be honest, work hard and have fun.

Front-row seats at a Frankie Valli concert!
If you could take anyone to lunch (dead or alive) who would that be and where would you go?
With my bride, Penny, and it would be her choice.
What is your favorite music? Name three bands you would like to see.
Country music. I would like to see Charlie Pride, Alan Jackson, and Vince Gill.
What local business makes you the most nostalgic about Suwanee?
Waffle House! I met Bert from the famous Bert’s Chili there.
What is your favorite thing about Suwanee?
It is a unique city and friendly.
