Your Name
Ameya Agnihotri
What High School do you attend?
GSMST
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I live with my parents who are immigrants from South India and my 11 year old brother who attends Riverside Elementary. We moved to the Suwanee area in 2018 and going to a difficult STEM school while being supported by the community has been so influential to who I am today. We love Suwanee and all the opportunities the city has offered us to grow and thrive.
What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending Augusta University to major in Biology on the Pre-Med track.
What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Tequila Mama and Riverside Pizza!
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would travel to Seoul, South Korea. Our community has a big Korean population and after living here for five years and being exposed to the food and culture, it would be amazing to visit South Korea and learn more about the culture!
What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite movie is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
I would tell them to solidify their foundations and stand by what they believe in despite any pushback. As teens, we are in an explorative phase of life and many of our ethics and values will be challenged and its so important to stand by your ideals and stay true to who you are.
If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
I would cast myself in Schmigadoon!
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
I would choose Taylor Swift. She is someone who has inspired me profoundly to be unapologetically you and put yourself out there. As a woman in the music industry, she has faced so much sexism and discrimination and talking to her about how she fought out internally and externally would be so amazing. I would probably take her to Tequila Mama!
What is your favorite thing about our community?
How tight knit we are despite how big our community is. Especially during Suwanee Days, I love seeing everyone come out and be together.
Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I want to go to medical school so hopefully working towards my MD. My end goal is run a cash based clinic for people who can’t afford good healthcare or don’t have insurance.
What is something on your bucket list?
I want to travel the world and visit my grandmas village in India, which I am yet to do.
What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Taylor Swift or Frank Ocean.
Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I love the summer. Seeing the grass turn green, seeing people coming outside and walking around in Sims Lake makes me so happy. The warm weather makes summer so enjoyable and a great time to hang out with friends.
Who inspires you to be better?
My mother. She is such a hard worker and inspires me to be a better student, daughter, friend and person.
