Spencer Southard – North Gwinnett

Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path?

A: I plan to attend The University of Georgia in the fall and major in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics. I have always liked dealing with numbers and data.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A: My family has lived in Suwanee for 18 years now. I live with my parents and two dogs. I have an older brother named Carson that has recently moved to Raleigh, NC. after graduating from UNC Chapel Hill.

 

Q: Where do you go to school?

A: North Gwinnett High School

 

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? 

A: Cheeky– love the chipotle cream sauce! And, of course Taco Mac with the boys.

 

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: The most interesting person that I have met in the community is local icon, Brian McGlynn

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: México to go see Mr. Sancho

 

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: All time favorite is Game of Thrones. You just can’t beat it!

 

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: Dr. Grodzicki helped me to understand how to balance life. She said that there should always be a a good balance between school work and leadership.

 

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: Playboi Carti the rapper.

 

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A: I would throw down some wings at Taco Mac with Trae Young.

 

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

A: I enjoy the food trucks at Suwanee Town Center and a good night of bowling at Main Event.

 

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: Working for a large Fortune 500 company.

 

Q: What show are you binge watching right now? 

A: Peaky Blinders

 

Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: My favorite month is June (I enjoy a good beach trip). My favorite holiday is probably either Christmas (what’s not to like) and or the 4th of a July (again I like summer). Best single day is any Saturday to watch SEC football in the fall.

 

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: I would have to say Carson, my brother as we are very competitive in all that we do.

 

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different?

A: Probably get to know more people and not sweat the small stuff.

 

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: Being able to leave my house and go see people.

 

Q: Were you involved in any sports or extra curricular activities?

A: Vice President of the Student body, NGSLT, Student Council, HOSA, National Honor Society, and Beta clubs. I enjoyed Rec Basketball on the side.

 

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: Go on vacation somewhere tropical!
